In December, 1993, the formation of Major League Soccer was announced and the inaugural season began in October, 1995, beginning with 10 teams nationwide. Three years later, two additional teams were added, including Chicago Fire. Its first season ended with the win of the MLS Cup and the U.S. Open Cup. The Chicago Fire plays at its new stadium, Bridgeview Stadium, located in Bridgeville, Illinois. This world-class stadium was designed soccer-specific and seats about 20,000 guests, with expansion capability to 28,000. Check the Chicago Fire website for schedule and ticket information.
