Summary
Features: U.S. Cellular Field is home of the Chicago White Sox baseball team. Prior to 2003, the park was known as Comiskey Park. The White Sox started out in the early 1900's at the 39th Street Grounds, just four blocks from the current park. By 1910, they moved to a new facility at 35th Street and Shields Avenue, known as Comiskey Park. Then in 1991, a new Comiskey Park was built across the street from the original Comiskey Park. The new park featured an exploding scoreboard, an old-time facade complete with arches and over 40,000 unobstructed-view seats. The ballpark attracted a club-record 2,934,154 fans in its first year. In January, 2003, it was renamed U.S. Cellular Field.
U.S. Cellular Field offers lots of fan amenities. They have a great variety of concession options, a sports bar, a speed pitch machine, several gift shops, a pet sitting service and more. Visit the Chicago White Sox website for more information and current season's schedule.
Why We Go: US Cellular Field has been rated one of the top ballparks in Major League Baseball since it underwent major renovations in 2003, and the 2005 World Series Champion White Sox have proven to be the most successful baseball team in Chicago.
- Great Views: US Cellular seating offers thousands of unobstructed seats, and sight lines on the first and third base sides put White Sox fans close to the action at this beautiful Chicago ballpark.
- Cheaper Tickets: Chicago Baseball tickets to White Sox Stadium are more affordable than their North Side counterparts (the Chicago Cubs), and cheap seats at US Cellular Field start at just $15.
- Fan Friendly: There are numerous vendors and concession stands conveniently located throughout US Cellular Park, and ballpark services include private parties in the Panoramic Fan Deck and a pet check at the entry gates.
Inside Knowledge: The Legends Sculpture Plaza in Centerfield is a popular Chicago attraction before the game at White Sox Stadium. Get your picture taken with beautiful bronze statues of White Sox legends Harold Baines, Carlton Fisk and former ballpark namesake Charles Comiskey.
Do's and Don'ts:
- Do Stay Nearby: Popular Chicago hotels close to US Cellular Field include the Hyatt Regency McCormick, and you'll findaffordable Chicago hotel rates at the Chicago South Loop Hotel nearby.
- Do Avoid Parking: Chicago parking at White Sox Stadium costs $23. However, Chicago travelers can take the convenient L Train to the Sox-35th Station for a fraction of the price, without worrying about post-game traffic.
- Don't Miss the Concessions: There are a number of great concession stands convenient to all US Cellular seating sections, and vegetarian options include garden burgers and veggie dogs on all stadium levels.

Great Fun!
The White Sox offer great baseball and affordable tickets. They have a new ticket pricing system called dynamic deals. The prices vary depending on the game. The one we chose was great! We paid $5 per ticket. They were nice seats too. There is also a ton of fun and things to do inside the park.
