U.S. Cellular Field is home of the Chicago White Sox baseball team. Prior to 2003, the park was known as Comiskey Park. The White Sox started out in the early 1900's at the 39th Street Grounds, just four blocks from the current park. By 1910, they moved to a new facility at 35th Street and Shields Avenue, known as Comiskey Park. Then in 1991, a new Comiskey Park was built across the street from the original Comiskey Park. The new park featured an exploding scoreboard, an old-time facade complete with arches and over 40,000 unobstructed-view seats. The ballpark attracted a club-record 2,934,154 fans in its first year. In January, 2003, it was renamed U.S. Cellular Field.
U.S. Cellular Field offers lots of fan amenities. They have a great variety of concession options, a sports bar, a speed pitch machine, several gift shops, a pet sitting service and more. Visit the Chicago White Sox website for more information and current season's schedule.
