Big Bowl Chicago - Wouldn't Go Back
I was really disappointed by this place to be honest. It sits right on Rush Street next to a bunch of great restaurants, but this doesn’t hold a candle to them. Me and my friend sat up at the bar and we ordered two appetizers and an entree, the Thai Hot Pepper Chicken. The appetizers were just alright. I got pork dumplings, she got vege wraps. Then we waited... and waited... and waited. We waited 45 minutes for my entree to come but it never came. Having a history in the restaurant business, I’m a very patient customer, but finally I asked where the entree was and the bartender said that the previous bartender never told her that we wanted an entree. Although I heard him say it to her myself. So I just said never mind cause we were ready to go at this point, but they ended up bringing it out anyways for us for free. I really appreciated the gesture, but it still wasn’t very good. The portion wasn’t very big at all and it didn’t taste that great. Also, me and my friend were never once asked how everything was or if we wanted a refill or anything.
I’m not one to really ever complain at a restaurant, because I know how it is to work at one but this wasn’t good. I like the location, and the inside of Big Bowl has a nice ambiance, but the food and the service are terrible. I definitely wouldn’t go back or recommend it.
