Bobby's Bike Hike - Bikes, bites and brews rain or shine
I had the chance to talk with a tour guide and two participants on Bobby’s Bike Hike Tour in Wrigleyville.
Despite the rain, the participants told me they were having a great time, and that the biking itself wasn’t terribly taxing. They were on the Bikes, Bites and Brews Tour, and while restaurants change seasonally, on this particular tour they hit Lou Malnati's Pizza (a Chicago signature), followed by Molly’s Cupcakes in Lincoln Park and, finally, Goose Island for a small Chicago craft beer. (Full disclosure: I tried all 3 of these places, and all 3 were superb.)
Bobby’s Bike Hike clearly offers tours rain or shine, because it was raining pretty consistently on the day I ran into these folks. (The bikers were wearing helmets and reflector vests for safety.) The cost of this tour is $60 and includes all of the aforementioned food.
If you're looking for an active tour in Chicago, this one is definitely worth checking out, though I would recommend looking up the weather forecast ahead of time before you hit the road.
