Snow craftsmen will begin sculpting on site on Wednesday, Feb. 11 with voting scheduled to commence on Feb. 13-14, concluding that afternoon with an awards ceremony. Snow Days Chicago is also partnering with the Chicago Public Schools to include a student sculpting exhibition. Eight to 10 high schools will send snow sculpting teams to compete. Additional programming will include a snowboarding competition and demonstration. Competitors include many local snowboarders from the United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA). This Olympic sport has enjoyed tremendous growth in the country and now festival attendees will see it happen up close and personal.
