Midwest Film Festival

The Midwest Independent Film Festival is the nation's only film festival solely dedicated to the Midwest filmmaker, presenting audiences with regionally produced independent cinema every first Tuesday of the month at Landmark Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark in Chicago. Shoreline Architecture Cruises

Taking advantage of the spring-like weather, Shoreline Sightseeing will run mid-winter Chicago River Architecture Cruises this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 18 and 19 on a limited schedule - 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Tour of The Chicago Theatre

Time: 12:00pm

The tour encompasses historical and architectural highlights of the building, including the grand lobby areas, majestic auditorium and backstage space (when possible) where performers through the years.

Saturday tours occur on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 11am and 12pm. Tours will begin promptly on the hour. When possible, Saturday tours will feature a demonstration on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ.

The running time for all Saturday tours is approximately 1 hour. Reservations do not need to be made in advance unless your party contains more than 10 people.
$5 per person, no reservations necessary

International Kennel Club of Chicago Show

Location: McCormick Place, North building

More than 10,000 purebred dogs will participate in this event, the club's 150th and one of the largest in the U.S. See them demonstrate their skills in a variety of competitions. This is also one of the few remaining benched shows, so you'll be able to visit designated areas to see the dogs up close and talk with breeders or handlers

Polar Adventure Days

Location: Northerly Island-1400 S. Lynn White Dr., on the Museum Campus

Polar Adventure Days offer families the opportunity to explore Northerly Island and come face-to-face with live animals, engage in winter activities, watch ice sculpture carvings, create winter-themed art, learn the science behind snow formations and enjoy music from the Old Town School of Folk Music. With enough snow, participants can snowshoe and cross country ski around the Island. Participants can also go inside for free hot chocolate (while supplies last for the first 500 guests.)

Auditorium Theatre Tour

Location: 50 E.Congress Parkway, Chicago, IL 60605

Tour the magnificent Auditorium Theatre and marvel at the art and architecture of Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan.

Tours are available Mondays at 10:30am and 12 noon and Thursdays at 10:30 am. Tour tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased beginning 30 minutes prior to the tour at the Auditorium Theatre Box Office and in advance at Ticketmaster.
