Annual Dying Green of the Chicago River

Location: East Wacker & N Columbus Drives

Turning the Chicago river green has been a unique to Chicago for the past 40 years. Most people did not know that this is a privately funded operation, which gets more expensive each year. The purpose of this site is to get the word out to people who want to come out and watch, as well as to get support (in the form of T-Shirt sales) to keep this tradition going.

Our Downtown Chicago Parade begins at 12:00 noon, Saturday March 14th.

The parade starts at Balbo and Columbus. The parade units will proceed north on Columbus Drive and the viewing stand will be located in front of Buckingham Fountain.

Southside Irish Parade

If you want even more parade action, check out the South Side for the South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 15th. The parade kicks off at noon from the corner of 104th and Western and features live marching and bagpipe bands, as well as a Raffle. The Grand Prize is two tickets to Ireland!
