Mid-America Bonsai Show & Sale
Location: Chicago Botanic Garden 1000 Lake Cook Rd. Glencoe, IL
The Midwest Bonsai Society presents its 33rd Annual Mid-America Bonsai Exhibition, renowned as the best in the Midwest and one of the top three in the country. This annual bonsai show and sale draws enthusiasts from all over the United States. Visitors can view a judged display of more than 200 specimens, as well as selections from the Garden’s own outstanding bonsai collection. Bonsai Master Hiroyoshi Yamaji will judge this year's show.

More than a dozen vendors will offer everything bonsai related, including bonsai trees, raw nursery stock, pots, tools and supplies. Sale hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all three days. Show hours are from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Free demonstrations and lectures will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Seventeen workshops are presented for all levels of enthusiasts. Registration is required and materials fee varies.

51st Annual Chicago Air and Water Show
Location: North Ave Beach-1600 N. Lake Shore Dr
The Chicago Air & Water Show is the largest spectator event in the United States and the longest ongoing show of its kind in North America.

Chicago Ribs 'n' Soul Festival
Location: West Loop 1501 W Randolph St
This inaugural three-day event offers a ribs cook-off and vendors selling an array of summertime fare such as barbecue, plus live jazz, R&B and blues music.

Tour of The Chicago Theatre
Time: 12:00pm
The tour encompasses historical and architectural highlights of the building, including the grand lobby areas, majestic auditorium and backstage space (when possible) where performers through the years.

Saturday tours occur on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 11am and 12pm. Tours will begin promptly on the hour. When possible, Saturday tours will feature a demonstration on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ.

The running time for all Saturday tours is approximately 1 hour. Reservations do not need to be made in advance unless your party contains more than 10 people.
$5 per person, no reservations necessary
