13th Annual Celtic Fest Chicago
Location: Grant Park-Jackson Blvd. & Columbus Dr.
The inaugural Celtic Fest Chicago took place September 21-22, 1997 on Columbus Drive and Jackson Boulevard in Grant Park. Its lofty goal was to educate the public on Celtic music and culture from 7 Celtic nations. Those nations are Ireland; Scotland; Isle of Man; Cornwall; Wales; Galicia, Spain; and Brittany, France.

13th Annual Chicago Half Marathon

Chicago's Scariest Haunted House Opens October 9
Sunday, September 13, 2009, 20,000 runners will hit the streets of Chicago in The 13th Annual Chicago Half Marathon & 5K race. The scenic route begins and ends in Jackson Park, showcasing Chicago’s brilliant south shoreline and skyline. This beautiful course offers entertainment as well as ten aid stations along the path for participants. Spectators will enjoy a magnificent view of the city as they support their loved ones.

Lurie Garden Guided Walks
Location: Lurie Garden, Millennium Park
Learn more about the Lurie Garden during free 20-minute guided walks with University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners. Discover native plants, Chicago symbolism in the garden’s design and perennials that can be easily grown in the home garden. Meet in the garden. Tours leave every 10 to 15 minutes, rain or shine. Pre-registration is not required.
