Magnificent Mile Lights Festival & Parade
Location: Michigan Ave. from Oak St. to the Chicago River
The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival® presented by Harris kicks off the holiday season on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. with a day full of musical performances on the Harris Stage (for a list of confirmed artists visit www.themagnificentmile.com).
The day culminates with a magical lighting procession down North Michigan Avenue led by Mickey Mouse and his friends from Walt Disney World® Resorts in Florida to illuminate one million lights on 200 trees. Family activities abound in participating Magnificent Mile hotel, retail, restaurant, cultural and entertainment attractions during the event and throughout the holiday season. FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS, the trees along North Michigan Avenue have been illuminated to signal the official start of the holiday season. Join Mickey Mouse and his pals from the Walt Disney World® Resort for a magical holiday celebration in The Magnificent Mile district. Witness the spectacular lighting of more than one million lights along North Michigan Avenue from Oak Street to Wacker Drive, culminating in a magnificent fireworks show over the Chicago River. After you enjoy the day’s activities, return to The Magnificent Mile district again and again throughout the season to create your own holiday memories!

Tour of The Chicago Theatre
Time: 12:00pm
The tour encompasses historical and architectural highlights of the building, including the grand lobby areas, majestic auditorium and backstage space (when possible) where performers through the years.
Saturday tours occur on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 11am and 12pm. Tours will begin promptly on the hour. When possible, Saturday tours will feature a demonstration on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ.
The running time for all Saturday tours is approximately 1 hour. Reservations do not need to be made in advance unless your party contains more than 10 people.
$5 per person, no reservations necessary
