Auditorium Theatre Tour

Tour the magnificent Auditorium Theatre and marvel at the art and architecture of Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan.

Tours are available Mondays at 10:30am and 12 noon and Thursdays at 10:30 am. Tour tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased beginning 30 minutes prior to the tour at the Auditorium Theatre Box Office and in advance at Ticketmaster.

Breakfast with Santa

Location: United Club at Soldier Field, 1410 S. Museum Campus Dr.

Soldier Field will host its third annual Breakfast with Santa to ring in the holidays. This will be one of a few times during the year when the United Club’s fine dining is open to the public. Families will not only be able feast on a fantastic holiday breakfast, but also to visit with Santa and share some of their wishes. Former Chicago Bears player, Jerry Azumah, is slated to be on hand as well. Finally, as a special treat for all, families will be able to take part in a few other activities including a hand-made ornament contest an that will be adorned on the Stadium Holiday Tree. As well, kids will be able to decorate their own holiday cookies! All hand-made ornaments will be judged and the top 3 will be given awards! Price: Adults ($50); 3-12 ($25); 3 and Under (FREE)

Tour of The Chicago Theatre

Time: 12:00pm

The tour encompasses historical and architectural highlights of the building, including the grand lobby areas, majestic auditorium and backstage space (when possible) where performers through the years.

Saturday tours occur on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 11am and 12pm. Tours will begin promptly on the hour. When possible, Saturday tours will feature a demonstration on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ.

The running time for all Saturday tours is approximately 1 hour. Reservations do not need to be made in advance unless your party contains more than 10 people.
$5 per person, no reservations necessary

Location: Chicago Theatre 175 N. State St.

The tour encompasses historical and architectural highlights of the building, including the grand lobby areas, majestic auditorium and backstage space (when possible) where performers through the years, have left their autographs on the walls of dressing rooms and corridors.

Guides will share with you the stories of the visionaries who opened The Chicago Theatre, whose influence on popular entertainment in Chicago is still recognized today. Tours also include the photo exhibit in The Chicago Theatre's lower lobby, "Chicago: Three Centuries of Theatres."

Nestled in between Chicago’s downtown sky scrapers, Daley Plaza is aglow with twinkling lights and filled with red and white striped huts during the holiday season. The Christkindlmarket Chicago returns to the heart of the Windy City for the fifteenth year starting on November 24 and is open daily until December 24, 2010. .

The market will be open daily from 11am to 8pm Sunday through Thursday, and from 11am to 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. On Thursday November 25, and Friday December 24, the market’s hours will be from 11am to 4pm. Jolly Old St. Nick will again grace the plaza with his holiday cheer in his Midwest satellite workshop on Daley Plaza!

UL is also providing a Santa’s House on Daley Plaza, where children and families can experience the wonder of the North Pole and have their picture taken with Santa Claus throughout the holiday season. UL's Santa's Workshop will open in coordination with the City of Chicago Annual Tree Lighting and offer activities and important safety tips to enjoy while children wait to tell Santa their holiday wishes.

Santa will be available for photos so don’t forget your personal cameras or Underwriters Laboratories will be offering free photos that can be downloaded.
