Why We Go: Not only is this Chicago Library a historical landmark and beautiful building, but the Newberry Library hosts many awesome special events and exhibitions open to the public.

  • Tours: On Thursdays at 3pm and Saturdays at 10:30am free tours of the Newberry Library are offered. Group tours require reservations.
  • Special Events: The Chicago Newberry Library hosts numerous annual events, some open to the public and some strictly for donors. Their annual book fair and Bughouse Square Debates are two great events worth checking out.
  • Exhibitions: The Chicago Library hosts special exhibitions that are FREE and open to the public, and can not only be extremely interesting, but very educational. Current information concerning the library's exhibitions can be found on the Newberry Library website.
