acres. It is ;known as the third busiest airport in the
world, and the busiest in Illinois. Millions of passengers pass through
its terminals every year with 37 different airlines operating

In addition to being one of the busiest airports in the nation, O'Hare International
Airport was also voted one of the best. Over the last decade, this Chicago airport has earned itself a slew of awards and recognition. The US edition of Business Traveler Magazine and
Global Traveler Magazine both voted Chicago O'Hare the "Best Airport in North
America". However, despite these accolades, the Chicago airport was also voted
as having the second worst airport delays in the nation in 2009 by Travel and Leisure
magazine. This issue is something that the airport has been trying to improve ever
since. There are plans underway to create two more runways to help with the aircraft
congestion, as well as plans to build another control tower. The improvements will
result in a total of 8 runways, and the construction is slated to be finished in
2014.
Getting There
Airlines and Airports in Chicago, IL
O'Hare International Airport offers a variety of different public
transportation options designed to reduce airport traffic congestion.
The Airport Transit System (ATS) is a free mode
of transport which runs 24-hours a day. The Airport Transit System services all four of
Chicago O'Hare's terminals, and takes just 9 minutes to get from one end to the
other.
Other public transportation options include taking the Chicago Transit
Authority's 'L' train (Blue Line) or the commuter train which
both depart from O'Hare International Airport. Many major car rental
companies are also located inside the Chicago airport.
Parking
If you do choose to take your own vehicle, Chicago O'Hare provides several different
parking options, including valet parking, and parking for
people with disabilities. Passengers also have the option of using the Chicago
airport's long term parking for up to 30 days. For those who are
picking up passengers from O'Hare International Airport, it is recommended that they
use the cell phone parking lot as curbside waiting is not
allowed.
Amenities
There are a number of useful traveler amenities at O'Hare International Airport. A
post office is located on the upper level of Terminal 2, while an
inter-faith chapel can be found on the mezzanine level of Terminal 2.
A currency exchange booth located on the lower level of Terminal 5 is
also available. Chicago O'Hare also has more than 100 shops and
restaurants found throughout the airport.
Hotels
Getting to Chicago Flights
There are a number of different hotels that are located near Chicago
O'Hare. The Holiday Inn Chicago O'Hare and the Candlewood Suites Chicago O'Hare are both located within a
few miles of the Chicago airport. Both these hotels have complimentary airport
shuttles for guests. The O'Hare Inn & Suites offers guests a daily
complimentary breakfast, high speed Internet access, and a business
center. The Doubletree Hotel Chicago O'Hare is another popular Chicago
airport hotel. Each room at this 3.5-star hotel features a
