Why We Go: The Chicago Theater schedule is filled with diverse and highly entertaining events. The Chicago Theater tickets are keys to a fun-filled evening.

  • The History: The Chicago Theater shows at this legendary destination began on October 26, 1921, when doors first opened.  Visitors can take a guided tour during the day, and learn all about the 1920's business people, movie stars, musicians, and events that make up the history of The Chicago Theater.
  • The Building: This grand theater features its widely recognized marquee by the entrance.  The theater's lobby and auditorium are simultaneously elegant, classic, and glamorous.
  • The Events: Big-name musicians and actors take the stage during The Chicago Theater shows.  Patrons love that The Chicago Theater consistently has a strong line-up of entertainers and shows.

Inside Knowledge: While you can't take pictures during shows, you are allowed and encouraged to take as many pictures as you'd like during the daytime guided tour.

Do's and Don'ts:

  • Do buy first-row balcony seats.  Rather than getting tickets to be directly by the stage, shell out a few more dollars for these balcony seats that will allow you to see the stage even when people stand up, get drinks at the bar near the balcony, and enjoy listening at a volume that is much easier on the ears than what you'd experience right by the stage monitors.
  • Do use the bathroom DURING the show.  The lines for the restrooms are long during intermissions.  You can save yourself lots of waiting time by visiting the bathroom while the show is playing.
  • Don't bring outside food or beverages.  The concession stand offers plenty of refreshing and delicious options.  There are usually several concession areas open so lines are short!
  • Don't miss the guided tour.  The shows are great here, but the art, architecture, and decor, as well as the story behind the theater are amazing as well.  Learn fascinating information about this Chicago landmark, and enjoy dedicating time to photographing and admiring the theater.
