Club Quarters Dowtown - Tons of Financial Types
The Club Quarters in the South Loop was packed with financial-types, from the busy lobby to the Elephant Castle Pub next door. Clearly a favorite with business travelers, this place was as busy on a Thursday afternoon as it was quiet on a Thursday evening. (More on that below.)
The thing I enjoyed most about my visit to the Club Quarters was the people-watching; tons of networking going on, dozens of iPads out and everyone seemed to have a cocktail going. Again, it was about 3pm on a Thursday, so I appreciated the fast-paced feel to this Chicago hotel lobby and next door bar.)
However, if you're in town for leisure, this might not be the best place to stay as the Downtown Loop area is essentially a ghost-town after dark and on the weekends. (Trust me - I confirmed the rumors myself.)
That being said, this is a well-known luxury hotel where you can make some connections if you end up talking to the right person, and a stop at the Elephant Castle Pub is a great mid-afternoon bar in Downtown Chicago.
