Hotel Allegro - Modern luxury next to the Cadillac Theatre
The Hotel Allegro in Chicago is located in one of the busiest sections in The Loop. Especially convenient for theater-goers, it’s right next to the Cadillac Theatre.
There were several doormen outside, but they were all cool with me checking out the lobby even though it was clear I wasn’t staying there. Also, I was able to pull in free Wi-Fi, which was great because it was pouring and I was in serious need of an e-mail check. Props to the Hotel Allegro.
One thing to note is that the hotel is right next to the L train tracks, so noise could be an issue if you’re staying on that side of the building. There’s a cool bar in the lobby called the Encore Lounge if you’re looking for a quaint cocktail after hours in Downtown Chicago. Also, the Allegro is really close to the Financial District in the South Loop, so if you're staying on business it definitely seems like a solid option.
Overall, while the Hotel Allegro was a bit out of my price range, my brief interaction with the staff and their comfortable lobby led me to believe that this is an above-average luxury hotel in Chicago that's worth a visit if you're in The Loop.
