IMPORTANT

Chicago Traveler offers two kinds of hotel reservations through our site and the general terms and conditions for these reservations will differ in a number of categories. A basic description of each type is as follows:

Option 1-The first type are those booked with our discount reservation network, the Interactive Affiliate Network (IAN) that includes the Hotels.com inventory of rooms. Reservations booked in this fashion will continue to show the Chicago Traveler branding throughout the reservation process.
Option 2-The other type are those booked directly with the individual hotels and or hotel group. These reservations will leave the Chicago Traveler web site and branding, open a new browser window on your system and present the look and branding of the target hotel's own web site.

OPTION 1-HOTELS BOOKED THROUGH THE IAN NETWORK

The majority of the offerings our this site are for discounted hotel reservations network. For these the following information applies:

Price Guarantee
The IAN network offers Special Internet Rate that are identified as such. These Special Internet Rate hotel reservations booked through Interactive Affiliate Network are guaranteed to be the lowest rate. If there is a lower rate available for the same dates and the same hotel, you must contact us within 24 hours of booking your "Special Internet Rate" reservation. We will either refund you the difference or cancel the reservations without penalty. This guarantee only applies to rate indicated as "Special Internet Rates." It does not apply to special events such as New Years and the Super Bowl. To learn more, see our additional information regarding Special Internet Rate reservations.

View/Cancel Reservation
If you need to confirm information regarding your reservation or your plans change, you can view or cancel a reservation, or call 1-800-261-8159.

Cancellation Policy
When you are completing the Secure Lodging Reservation Form, the Cancellation Policy will be provided in red or there will be a link to read the cancellation policy. You can also view the property information page to find the cancellation policy. These policies will vary from lodging to lodging, so you must read each one carefully. In general, the standard increments are that you must cancel the room(s) by 4 or 6 PM on the arrival date, or 24, 48, or 72 hours prior to your specified arrival; however, these are just general guidelines and the specific policy of the property will prevail. If you cancel before the deadline, generally you will not be charged a penalty. Canceling after the stated period will result in a cancellation penalty fee. Some reservations are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled after booking.

Reservations of "Special Internet Rates" will apply a cancellation fee regardless of the timeframe of cancellation. If the cancellation is outside of the time allotted, you may be charged for one night's stay including tax recovery charges and service fees. Please read the specific cancellation policy provided for each property on the site and in any emails regarding your reservation. See the complete cancellation policy for IAN reservations.

Credit Card Safety
To ensure your security, Interactive Affiliate Network utilizes a secure commerce server, which encrypts the credit card number and encodes it into a non-usable form. Read answers to other credit card questions.

OPTION 2-HOTELS BOOKED DIRECTLY

For those hotel options that book directly on a hotel/hotel group's own web site, the reservation, cancellation and price guarantee terms described above do not apply. All terms and conditions are provided by the hotel/hotel group and they are their responsibility to disclose them to you.

Do not assume that the terms and conditions for those reservations made directly are inferior than those offered by Option 1. This is certainly not a valid assumption.

We just can't provide the details of each of the hotel options for booking directly. They are individual and you should be sure to understand these T&C and that they satisfactorily meet your requirements.
