Mickey's - Go if you're a Browns fan, skip it if you aren't
As an avid football fan, my biggest criticism of Mickey's Chicago in Lincoln Park is that they leave their loud house music on while the NFL games are on. You can essentially separate the 'real' fans from the fake ones based on how serious they take hearing the sound during football games. I find it hard to concentrate 100% without the audio, even if I don't care for the announcers. (Which is often the case.) It kind of takes away from the ambiance of a 'sports bar' when you have "Party in the USA" blaring during a key 3rd down play in the 4th quarter. I'M JUST SAYING.
That being said, Mickey's has lots of seating, the drink prices are pretty cheap, and they have wing specials on Sunday. (I think 60 cents a wing was the going rate, but don't quote me. Also, they were pretty good.) I noticed a lot of couples in the bar to watch the game (this might have something to do with the music being left on), and the bartenders were fast enough, albeit a little cold.
One group I would recommend Mickey's to are Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fans. This is an Ohio bar, and they even have souvenir plastic cups with the OSU colors on Saturday and the Browns colors on Sunday. (I picked up one of each for my buddy from Columbus - thanks for the gift idea, Mickey's!) So, if you're a Browns fan (bless your heart) looking for a place to watch the game on Sundays, you may want to stop in at Mickey's. (Note: They DID have the sound on for the Browns game when I walked in ... What gives?!)
Overall, I definitely didn't have a bad time at Mickey's - it's just that there are several better options down the street, especially if you're a die-hard sports fan.
