Chicago Midway Airport Hotels

For travelers on the go, there are many benefits to staying at a hotel near Chicago’s Midway International Airport. Just like with O’Hare, you can step off the plane, gather your luggage, and take a ride-share, cab, or hotel van on an extremely short trip. For tourists and business travelers alike, the ideal travel scenario involves quickly getting rid of one’s luggage before navigating the challenges of a business meeting or planned tour. If you’re not in a hurry, it’s great to simply relax awhile in your hotel room, possibly with room service, before your next stop. And while that’s a benefit, as is a short voyage from your bed to your departing plane, there are several additional benefits to lodging near Midway.

One benefit is the location. Depending on the traffic, the drive downtown can take as little as 15 minutes. Don’t forget CTA Orange line which takes you directly downtown from Midway. The airport is right off of US 55, and there are many hotels in the vicinity also taking advantage of the location. Nearly all of the closest chain hotels are located in a block in Clearing East only a block south of the airport. All the big name hotels are represented, and they’re in such a cluster that one can pull into the block and choose from and walk between any of the ten hotels fairly quickly. Prices vary in this area, but are not too greatly removed from one another, and since they’re so close you can easily try the next hotel over if one is booked full. They are certain to be much less expensive than many of the larger hotels at the near-at-hand downtown Chicago.

The next closest cluster of hotels is further south on South Cicero Avenue in the area of Burbank and Oak Lawn. That includes extended stay options, hotels that encourage longer visits to the area. Apart from these options, there are a couple of smaller, less expensive hotels just north of the airport on South Archer Avenue.

While staying at one of these Midway-friendly hotels, you may wish to dine. Your hotel stay may include breakfast, and could have the option of providing room service. If you’d rather dine out, the majority of food options in the area are between Archer Heights north of the airport and West Lawn south of the airport along South Pulaski Road. There are a few dining options on West 65th Street just west of Clearing East.
