Northalsted Market Days

Event Overview: Drawing thousands of people from all over the country, Market Days Chicago is a 2-day festival that spans 6 city blocks! A number of live musical acts perform each year, and there are plenty of street vendors selling food, drinks, and fun souvenirs. 

What to Expect: Plenty of good food, great music, and constant entertainment is what Market Days Chicago is all about. Now in its 30th year, the annual event draws thousands of people to the 6-block street fair, and promises a good time for all.

• Street Vendors: More than 400 street vendors attend Northalsted Market Days in Chicago every year, selling everything from food, to accessories, to arts and crafts. A number of local businesses also set up booths.
• Parents Be Warned: While the event is open and welcoming, the parade of outrageous outfits make Northalsted Market Days more of an adults-only festival. 

Inside Knowledge: While admission to Northalsted Market Days is free, a $7 donation at the entrance is suggested, which benefits the Northalsted Area Merchants Association.

• Be Sun Smart: This outdoor event is held in the middle of the Chicago summer, so things can get hot! Make sure to bring a hat, and apply plenty of sunscreen throughout the day when attending Northalsted Market Days.
• Avoid the Crowds: While this may seem an impossible task given the number of people that Market Days Chicago attracts, try and attend the festival on Sunday afternoon, as it tends to be a bit quieter.
