Portillo's Chicago - Best Sandwich of my Life!!
I’ve got two words: Italian Beef! Portillo’s Italian beef sandwich is by far the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. If you do anything while you’re in Chicago, get an Italian Beef with peppers at Portillo’s. Their hot dogs are really good too, but the beef sandwich is to die for.
It’s kind of like street food but in a really cool building with all kinds of animated features hanging from the ceiling. The beef is really tender and it’s dipped in their gravy, which is the best part. It can get kind of messy, but I promise you’ll love it. It’s about $5 but doesn’t come with fries or anything. Those are extra. Get the fries with the cheese sauce. There’s also a separate bar for beer with a bunch of brews offered in large schooners. There’s really nothing bad to say about this place. You’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t hit it up when you’re in Chicago.
