Hotel Sax - Great location, cool lobby
The Hotel Sax is a Kimpton hotel, so you can expect a trendy decor and quality location; the Hotel Sax in River North has both. The Sax includes a fancy hotel lobby with close access to the House of Blues and the Chicago Riverwalk. Seriously – the Hotel Sax is just steps from the famous Chicago River.
Poke your head outside and you’ll see tour boats floating by throughout the day. Also, the Hotel Sax is close to one of the BEST views of Chicago, right on the Chicago River staring down the famous architecture on Wacker Drive. Merchandise Mart is just down the street, and Dick's Last Resort is next door, so you can grab a late-night drink without worrying about driving or cab fare.
There’s plenty to do nearby (including the Chicago Theatre), and the heart of Downtown Chicago is just a short walk across the bridge. If you can’t find the Hotel Sax, just look for the “Corn on the Cob” buildings across the street – you’ll know them when you see them. The Sax Chicago is a great pick if you're running on a slightly more upscale budget, as it puts you just north of many of Chicago's most impressive buildings and landmarks.
