Shoreline Water Taxi - Best way to get to and from Navy Pier!
If you’ve never been to Chicago before, then I highly recommend taking a water taxi! This water taxi goes back and forth between Museum Campus and Navy Pier, and I believe there is one other drop off point further north too. Really the coolest part is being out on a boat in Lake Michigan. The views of the Chicago skyline are absolutely breathtaking from the lake! The ride goes pretty fast, so don’t worry if you get sea sick. I was imagining more of a small boat, but it’s actually a lot larger then you would expect. It probably seats about 50 people.
Our driver was great too. He kept cracking jokes the whole time. I was on my way to the Shedd Aquarium. So that was perfect because it drops you off right in front of the aquarium. I found Shoreline to be professional and reasonably priced. They give you pretty accurate times about when the next water taxi will arrive. I believe they leave every 20 minutes. I heard it’s not the best company for the boat tours, but for the water taxis, it’s great. Other companies on the pier even recommended Shoreline to me for this. It’s only about a $7 fare. So it’s probably even cheaper than taking a real cab and much more fun!
