January is drawing to an end, but the last couple of days are going to be filled with tons of things to do in Chicago. One of those things to do is marvelling at massive ice sculptures during Snow Days at the famous Navy Pier. This is a family friendly activity for people of all ages, and best of all, it's completely free! Snow Days in Chicago 2013 is from January 25th to 27th.

- Snow Sculpting Competition: Many of the ice sculptors that are competing have mastered the art of carving statues that are 10 feet tall! It's fascinating to see a huge block of ice turn into something elegant and beautiful, and this year 15 teams of professional sculptors from all over the worls and 12 local high school teams are competing to make the best ice sculpture.
Don't leave before you find out who the winner is! On Saturday, January 26th, at 6pm, everyone is invited to attend the awards ceremony and discover what everyone's favorite ice sculpture was.
- Interactive Snowboarding Experience: For the first time ever this year, your kids can learn how to snowboard in Gateway Park. Several professionals are coming to to teach this fun, free course, so make sure your kids bundle up before you head out to Snow Days 2013!
- Games and Activities: On top of all the entertainment provided by the ice sculptors, your family will stay entertained the entire time with snow painting, Winter Hula Hoop, Snowman Hat Toss, Hockey Buckest, Snow Shoeing and a Snowball Spoon Race.
- More Entertainment: On top of everything happening outside, you can also go into the Family Pavilion to warm up indoors, and get even warmer as you shake your groove thing to the live performances going on all through the weekend.
Strictly Sailing Chicago, 2013
Also happening this weekend is the Strictly Sail Chicago 2013 event. For 4 days (January 24-27) you can come out to check out all the latest designs, gear, accessories and hardware from top suppliers in the sailing industry. There will be over 250 companies at this event taking place in Festival Hall, so don't miss out!
