theWit Chicago - Just My Kind of Place!
theWit is just my kind of place! It’s super hip and trendy with modern decor, and it’s in the perfect location, right in the middle of downtown by the Chicago river.
The clientele seemed to be on the younger professional side. There’s an awesome bar at the top of the hotel called The Roof that has a club/lounge vibe overlooking downtown. It’s probably one of the best rooftop bars I’ve ever been to, so even if you’re not staying at the hotel, you should definitely check it out. When I was there they were handing out free little desserts. I had a thing of chocolate moose that just made my day!
theWit would be a great place for a bachelor/bachelorette party! The suites are incredible! I would 100% recommend this to anyone in their 20’s or 30’s that wants a trendy hotel in Downtown Chicago.

After a decent meal at the State and Lake Restaurant off of the lobby, I wandered around theWit Hotel to get a feel for this cool Chicago hotel. I anticipated a chic, trendy decor and was not disappointed, at least by the lobby. I took a seat in one of their comfortable black chairs, and took in the busy scene from State St. as 5k runners from the morning's "Hot Chocolate Run" walked by in their running gear.
There was an abundance of families walking in and out of the theWit Hotel, leading me to believe that this would be a great place to stay if you're traveling with kids. Also, there are TONS of attractions nearby, most noticeably the Chicago Theatre next door and the Chicago Riverwalk across the street. Also, State St. shopping is just down the road if you're in town to shop, and given its central location on the North Side it's a great place to stay if this is your first time in Chicago.
Overall, I would definitely recommend theWit Hotel if it's within your budget. Very accommodating, though I was (unfortunately) not privy to the free chocolate mousse that my colleague was.
