Tin Lizzie - Great local bar

After a lackluster Sunday afternoon watching football at Mickey's down the road, I was looking for a slightly more authentic Chicago tavern experience. As it turned out, I walked into a Detroit Lions bar, so I guess in theory I kind of failed. However, the Tin Lizzie is about as 'real' as Chicago dive bars in Lincoln Park can get, and I met some pretty cool individuals while watching the football game.

This bar is pretty dark, but the bar itself is pretty big so there was seating available without looking 'empty.' Also, they had the TVs on with the audio from the football game, and since it was a typical Ravens-Steelers bloodbath, everyone in the bar was pretty into it.

The drink prices were pretty cheap, the bartender wasn't overly chatty and seemed like a good guy, and while they supposedly serve food here (which I've read isn't very good), I had already eaten dinner so I can't say either way.

In my opinion, the best part of the Tin Lizzie was the clientele. I chatted with just about everyone in there at one point or another during the game - all of whom were really friendly and interesting - and I definitely got the vibe that this was a solid local dive with a healthy dose of regular customers.

Overall, a solid bar to watch the game, make a couple of buddies and just kick back on a Sunday evening - nothing more, nothing less.
