W City Center - Fun and fancy, no matter what time of day it is
Alright, we all know W Hotels are known for their style and class; the W City Center in Chicago is no exception, and was a memorable highlight of the hotels I visited in Chicago.
The W Chicago has rooms with names like "Fantastic" and "Spectacular" - however, the lobby can be described by both of these adjectives. Everything has its place at the W City Center; the dim lighting, their comfy white chairs, towering Greek columns and massive replica desk lamps. There’s even a make-shift light show on the terrace level that, by my best guest, plays 24/7.
The Living Room Bar in the lobby is just to the right of the entrance when you walk in, and they serve both food and drinks (albeit at high prices) throughout the day.
There’s also a bar upstairs, but I’m not sure that opens until later in the evening. (For what it's worth, it was closed midday Thursday.) The decor and the architecture of the W City Center lobby reminds me of an opera house, it’s that nice.
If you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable place to get a little work done, definitely check out the W City Center lobby. If it's a chic, high-class hotel experience you're craving in Downtown Chicago, I would absolutely consider the W City Center in Chicago.
