What to Do for Fourth of July weekend in Chicago?

If you are planning to celebrate the Fourth of July in Chicago, there are an abundance of activities to enjoy all weekend long. Where are the best places to watch fireworks in Chicago? Here's the list:

Arlington Park

Fireworks begin just after dusk at Arlington Park. Guests can look forward to a thrilling day of racing and entertainment all day and into the night, and there will be plenty of food and beverage specials.

Those who buy advance tickets will enter the park 15 minutes before the general public. The first 5,000 guests will receive a complimentary Fourth of July accessory and the first 1,000 kids will receive a complimentary Firecracker Popsicle. After the last race, you can expect live music. There will also be demonstrations and contests until dusk when the fireworks begin. Arlington Park offers a variety of all-inclusive Fourth of July Packages. 

Navy Pier

Navy Pier Fireworks begin at 9:30 P.M. With 50 acres of parks, gardens, promenades, restaurants, attractions, and family-oriented entertainment, Chicago's lakefront playground is a prime choice for the Fourth of July celebrations.

Pier Park offers an abundance of family fun with the Funhouse Maze, Jet Skis at the Pier, Bike and Roll bicycle and roller skate rentals, along with the Chicago Children's Museum, and the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows.

Spirit of Chicago 4th of July Fireworks Dinner

Enchanting views of the fireworks celebrations are assured with the Fireworks Dinner Cruise aboard the Spirit of Chicago cruise lines. Celebrants will enjoy front-row seats for the Fourth of July fireworks show.

Celebrating America's birthday with festive buffets and interactive MC entertainment will create an everlasting memory out on the water as spectacular fireworks produce mesmerizing reflections upon Lake Michigan beneath the illuminated sky.

Gold and Platinum packages are available along with a Premium Open Bar package for passengers 21 and over.

Hamilton Lakes in Itasca

Celebrants will enjoy the largest fireworks display in the Chicago area at Hamilton Lakes in Itasca. Live musical entertainment begins at 7PM and continues at 8PM. Vendors will offer food, drinks, and adult beverages, and the fireworks will start between 9:45 and 10:00. Admission is free and on-site parking is available for a fee.

Naperville's Ribfest

Celebrants in Naperville will be treated to one of the largest fireworks displays in Chicago along with live bands and a tasty barbeque at the Ribfest. Friday night's fireworks will be simulcast with live music on the 3 stages. Ribfest will be located in Knoch Park in Naverpille.

Evanston Fourth of July Celebration

The Evanston Fourth of July Association continues their time-honored tradition of celebrating America's Independence Day with a parade, sports and games, traditional patriotic music and a grand display of fireworks.

The all day celebration begins at 9:00 A.M. at nine playground sites throughout the city providing games and activities for all ages. The Fun Run along Central Street commences at 1:15 P.M., followed by the parade down Central Street at 2:00.
