The Terrace at Trump Chicago - Stunning Views of Chicago

What a view! It’s a very pricey place to hang out at, but if nothing else, you have to just go up for the view. It’s on the 16th floor of the Trump Tower and it’s free to go up to there and just look around. Originally, I just went up to look around but the view easily persuaded me to stay and have a cocktail. They don’t come cheap though. About $17 a pop at the minimum! So milk the drink for all it’s worth. You will feel apart of high society on the terrace.

The terrace is really big. Probably seats about 60 people or so out there. It’s outdoors with a clear glass railing so no matter where you sit, there’s nothing obstructing your view of the incredible Chicago skyline. It looks out towards where the Chicago river meets Lake Michigan. An incredible place for pictures.

The service was great too. The bartender was this super sweet girl who knew an impressive amount of knowledge about all the unique ingredients in each drink. On her suggestion, I ordered the Huahine Basil, and I definitely recommend it! It was a ginger beer based drink with a kind of fruity flavor that I’ve never quite tasted before. It’s a fairly big drink. It was $17, but I kind of felt like I was getting two. I didn’t order any food, because it was extremely expensive, but I’m sure the food is great.

I feel like this is kind of a hidden gem of Chicago. If it wasn’t for a friend suggesting it, I would have never known. Definitely check it out for a before dinner cocktail. You’ll be blown away.

  • Exceptional Eats: Each season, Executive Chef Frank Brunacci creates a new menu at The Terrace at Trump, specially crafted with alfresco dining in mind. Small plates like sesame crusted tuna sliders, Maine lobster ceviche, and Bison kebobs are freshly prepared and artfully presented at the swanky Terrace at Trump Tower Restaurant.

Inside Knowledge: The Terrace at Trump is one of the best spots in the city to watch the brilliant fireworks display put on at the Navy Pier on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the summer months.

We Recommend:

  • Dessert: Save room for one of the sensational sweets created by Executive Pastry Chef Sarah Kosikowski at The Trump Terrace. These treats are as decadent as they are unique, with selections like Mai Tai push-pops with layers of housemade sorbet, milk chocolate frozen bananas served with a chilled Pina Colada fondue, and passion fruit ice cream bars dipped in dark chocolate and topped with crunchy chocolate pearls.
  • The Maeva: This refreshing blend of white wine, herb-infused simple syrup, and frozen grapes is served with a lovely garnish of star fruit and fresh mint leaves, and can be ordered individually or shared with friends in a huge punchbowl.
