Tucked alongside Grant Park right next to the Formal Gardens, the Hilton Chicago has a pretty enviable address. With Soldier Field and McCormick Place Convention Center both within walking distance, this is a great place to stay whether you’re in town for work or pleasure. All Hiltons are family friendly, and this central Chicago spot is no exception. The hotel’s on-site restaurants, Kitty O’Sheas and 720 Grill, offer children’s menus with options for picky eaters. At Kitty O’Sheas, kiddos get an entree (like grilled cheese, mac and cheese or fish and chips) with an Irish Cookie, side, and drink for $10. The hotel also has cribs and highchairs available. You can also opt for the Family Fun package, which comes with breakfast for four and free WiFi. Plus, the large indoor pool is the perfect way to entertain a crowd during your stay.

Guest rooms are available in standard, two bed and two bath, and room with a view layouts. All rooms offer HDTVs, in-room panen concierge and WiFi access (there is a fee). In Lakeview rooms, large windows overlook Lake Michigan, Grant Park or Museum Campus. The hotel also has 13 residential-feeling suites ranging from 800 to 1,400 square feet. With several layout options offering multiple beds and parlors, all suites boast picturesque views.

The hotel itself boasts some pretty great amenities, like the roomy sundeck overlooking the Chicago skyline and a large indoor pool. There are also great business amenities. The full-service business center as A/V equipment available to rent, and there are also fax, printing, and photocopying services. Other standard perks include baggage storage, a beauty salon, gift shop, and a shoe shine stand. The fitness room is one of the largest hotel offerings in Chicago, complete with Precor cardio equipment, weight machines, an indoor running track, whirlpool and locker room. There are also new Peloton bikes.

Hilton also has several on-site restaurants. 720 South Bar is the perfect happy hour spot, serving up local craft beers and classic cocktails. It is available for rent for private events and can accommodate 250. For breakfast and lunch, 720 South Grill features a seasonal menu. Guests can enjoy the breakfast bar or continental breakfast, for a fee. If you’re in a rush, Herb N’ Kitchen offers to-go pastries, sandwiches and salads and is open early and late.

On the street level, Kitty O’Sheas is a popular destination, especially for its famous brunch and Bloody Marys. It also boasts the largest whiskey selection in Chicago. Or, eschew all of those options and opt for room service, available each evening.

Tucked in the South Loop alongside Grant Park, the Hilton Chicago boasts an ultra convenient location. It’s walking distance to games and concerts at Soldier Field as well as the bar and restaurant scene in the Pilsen neighborhood. The Hilton is also the closest downtown hotel to the McCormick Place Convention Center, less than two miles away. The Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and Adler Planetarium on Museum Campus are less than a mile away, as well.

Nearby hotels here include the Travelodge by Wyndham, The Blackstone Autograph Collection, and the Congress Plaza Hotel. The price of the Hilton is comparable, and relatively affordable for a four-star hotel.

With the Formal Gardens as your backyard, there’s a lot to love about this Hilton Location. It has some pretty singular amenities, like that expansive indoor pool. The location is in the South Loop, so you can’t walk to Magnificent Mile or the Theatre district, but if you’re handy with public transportation, it’s just a short El ride away. An easy walk to the aquarium and Soldier Field with lots of amenities for families, this is a great place to stay if you’re traveling with kids.
