Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown/River North is tucked in the happening River North neighborhood just two blocks west of Michigan Avenue. It’s not to be confused with the Courtyard Downtown/Magnificent Mile a few blocks northeast. This location boasts access to it all, as it’s within walking distance of Navy Pier, American Girl Place and the Chicago Riverwalk. The Marriott has everything you can need right on the premises, including a popular on-site burger joint, a modern fitness center and an expansive indoor pool. After your adventures, come home to crisp linens and pillowtop mattresses in rooms with large flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.

Courtyard River North is a great place to make your home base if you’re traveling for work. Comfortable rooms feature work desks with plenty of nearby outlets, and WiFi is free. You’re in a great location near to Merchandise Mart and the nearby business district. Business services available include copy, fax, messenger services, internet printing, and overnight delivery/pickup from the on-site business center.

If you’re the one hosting, Marriott is a great option with six event rooms totalling nearly 5,000 square feet. The Illinois and Michigan rooms can be combined to accommodate up to 290 attendees. The hotel has all of the latest technology, including AV equipment, an LCD and Film projector, microphone, PA system, rear screen projector and video cameras. Meeting services include copy services, an electrician, locksmith, photographer, and security guard.

Rooms at Courtyard are efficient, roomy and clean. Choose from a single king or double queen room or a single or double one-bedroom suite. Rooms feature a living/sitting area and many have a pull-out sofa bed. There’s a coffee maker/tea service included and rooms have a shower/tub combination and spacious writing desks.

If you’re staying awhile, guests can take advantage of on-site coin laundry or valet laundry and dry cleaning. The hotel can arrange car rental and foreign exchange as needed as well. There is also a spacious indoor pool and whirlpool with towels provided next to the fitness center. The modern gym is complete with cardio equipment, stair machines, and free weights.

Plus, be sure to enjoy on-site dining at Bill’s Bar & Burger Chicago. The award-winning burgers are served up along with craft beers and milkshakes, and there are flat screen TVs so you can catch the big game. Of course, the hotel is equipped with many accessible amenities as well. Accessible guest rooms have 32-inch wide doorways, hand-held shower wands, grab bars, bathtub seats and closed-caption TV.

Courtyard by Marriott, River North Neighborhood

This iconic Downtown/River North location offers access to all of the best sites in the city. If you’re in town for business, the nearby Merchandise Mart is home to the city’s wholesale design centers in the city’s top business district. But there’s plenty of fun within reach as well. Walk a few blocks south to enjoy the Riverwalk and all of its public art and children’s playscapes. Navy Pier is about a half mile from the hotel, as is the popular American Girl Place. The John Hancock Building, Art Institute of Chicago and Chicago Children’s Museum are all within a mile’s walk as well.

If you’ve had your fill of burgers, nearby restaurants include Shaw’s Crab House, Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, Grand Lux Cafe, and Rockit Bar & Grill. Other hotels in the close area include Kimpton Hotel Palomar, The Gwen, a Luxury Collection, and Hampton Inn & Suites. The Marriott offers comparable pricing to nearby competitors.

Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown/River North offers all of the amenities you would expect from a Marriott. A three-star hotel, it offers a nice indoor pool and fitness center and clean, comfy rooms. It has coin laundry on site, which can make extended stays easy. Check the prices at nearby luxury hotels before booking. Marriott is great, but if you can get a four-star hotel for the same price, why not upgrade?
