The Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago-Downtown offers recently renovated accommodations just one block from the famous Magnificent Mile. The River North location is in the heart of the city, steps from the Navy Pier trolley. Guests enjoy lots of perks, including a free full hot breakfast and an evening social with complimentary beer and wine. All rooms are two-room suites with full-size refrigerators, kitchen areas, and complimentary WiFi. There’s also a full fitness center with an expansive indoor pool boasting some pretty sweet views. If you’re in town for business, there’s also a business center with printing and WiFi plus 3,000 square feet of flexible event space.

Homewood Suites Downtown: Best for… Families

Homewood Suites are extremely family friendly. Two-room suites means your group has room to spread out, and fully equipped kitchens means you can save a ton of money by preparing meals in the room. All suites are complete with a full-size refrigerator, two-burner stove, microwave and dishwasher. Plus the hotel offers complimentary grocery shopping services for all guests. Just bring your grocery list to the front desk. The hotel will only charge the cost of groceries and tax at checkout. With a group, eating meals in can save a ton of cash.

Plus, you can also take advantage of a free full hot breakfast every day. Families can request high chairs and pack and plays for little ones, as well. If you’re traveling with a little girl who can’t wait for the American Girl Experience, Homewood suites has an exclusive American Girl package that comes with milk and cookies for one child and doll, one American Girl fold-out bed to take home, a welcome letter, and a chance to win an American Girl doll.

Homewood Suites Downtown Amenities

An all-suite hotel, accommodations at Homewood Suites are spacious one-bedrooms designed with separate living areas and sleeping areas. There’s also a work space and a kitchen area with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, two-burner stove and dishwasher. You can also use suite to business center printing if you need to print anything out during your stay. There are also two televisions, complimentary internet, and two phones with voicemail. Choose a king or two-queen layout and upgrade for an improved corner city view. Newly renovated, suites are minimally decorated with modern style.

Guests also enjoy granite countertops and vanities, Serta Suite Dreams bedding, and daily USA Today newspapers. A business center features complimentary printing, fax, and laptop hookups. There’s also a fitness room with cardio and weight equipment and a heated indoor pool. For dining, guests enjoy a free hot breakfast every day and an evening social with beer and wine Monday through Thursday.

Homewood Suites Downtown Neighborhood

Don’t confuse this River North location with the Homewood Suites just to the Northeast in Magnificent Mile. In the heart of downtown, this location is just steps from world-class dining and shopping. You also have easy access to the Financial District, and several universities. The neighboring Streeterville area offers access to the Chicago Children’s museum, Navy Pier, and Ohio Street Beach. Or, walk a few blocks south to the Chicago Riverfront and all of its dining and entertainment. You’re also just across the street from the Shops at North Bridge.

There isn’t an on-site restaurant, but there are plenty of hot restaurants nearby. Stop in Cantina Laredo, Eataly, Sunda, and Flemming’s Steakhouse, to name a few. Nearby hotels include the Hilton Garden Inn, Kimpton Hotel Palomar, and The Gwen A Luxury Collection. Homewood Suites is in the middle price wise, even though you are getting a whole suite and kitchen instead of just a room.

Homewood Suites Downtown: The Verdict

If you’re just in town for a night or two, you probably won’t be able to take advantage of all of Homewood Suite’s great amenities. But, if you’re in town for an extended stay, it’s a great option. You’ll pay a little bit more for the stay, but instead you’ll get a full suite and a kitchen with all the necessities to cook up a great meal—including complimentary grocery delivery. There’s also a free hot breakfast every day and a full fitness center with indoor pool
